About
Raeya Shah is a second-year Biology student at UIC with a strong passion for global learning and cultural exchange. She joined the Study Abroad Office as a Peer Advisor in Fall 2025 after studying abroad in Panama in a faculty-led program earlier that year, where she gained firsthand experience in connecting academics with cross-cultural exploration.
Having traveled to over 25 countries, Raeya is eager to continue expanding her global perspective and to encourage fellow students to do the same. She is especially excited to help peers discover study abroad opportunities that not only align with their academic and professional goals but also allow them to grow personally through adventure and cultural immersion. She understands the importance of balancing major requirements and career preparation, and she looks forward to guiding students through the process of finding the best time and program to study abroad.
