About
Raegan Duym serves the Study Abroad Office as a Peer Advisor for the University of Illinois at Chicago. She works with a team of international education and global engagement specialists to encourage UIC students to diversify their academic and professional experiences through studying abroad. Her passion and commitment to helping students find a program tailored to their goals makes her an outstanding resource for students interested in general information and support.
Raegan completed her first two years of her undergraduate degree at Illinois State University before transferring to UIC in the fall of 2023. She is a fourth-year student majoring in Spanish and minoring in both Italian and Italian American Studies and Arabic. Her extensive involvement on campus consists of being the current president of the Italian Club, a research assistant in the Multilingual Phonology Lab, a LASURI scholar, and on the UIC Women's Rugby team. Her enthusiasm for linguistics and international relations is evident in her post-graduation plans to serve in the Peace Corps and to work as a post-secondary educator. Raegan has studied abroad twice for language, cultural immersion, and history. She completed her first semester abroad in the Fall of 2022 at Istituto Lorenzo de’ Medici (LdM) in Florence, Italy, and her second semester in the Summer of 2024 at the School for International Training (SIT) in Amman, Jordan.
