About
Dr. Kyle Rausch is an experienced education abroad professional whose work includes:
- increasing access for historically ignored and underrepresented students,
- developing and coordinating faculty-directed education abroad programs, and
- leading institutional risk management for international travel
Kyle currently serves as the Executive Director of the Study Abroad Office at the University of Illinois at Chicago where he works with a team of professional international educators to provide high-impact education abroad programming for Chicago’s only public research university.
During his tenure with Arizona State University (ASU), Kyle led the faculty-directed programs team to scale programming responsibly, helping move the institution into the top 10 sending institutions as reported by the Institute of International Education. Kyle has also developed institutional risk management policies for international travel, managed the response to emergencies affecting institutional travelers abroad, and taught and led student groups on-site in Europe and Central America.
Kyle earned a Doctor of Education from ASU with his research focusing on supporting first-generation college students in education abroad. He earned a Master of Science in Higher Education Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in French and International Affairs from Florida State University. He is a Fulbright International Education Administrator Scholar (Taiwan 2023) and a licensed Qualified Administrator for the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI).
Kyle currently serves on the Council for the Forum on Education Abroad and volunteers by serving on advisory boards for various education abroad organizations.
